Call for Wait List Applications

The City of Geneva is making a Housing Repair Survey of Interest form available to all home owners and tenants to help identify repair needs that could support future grant applications for housing rehabilitation assistance. The City will use the results of the Survey to help decide whether to seek federal and state funding in the future that could help eligible home owners and/or landlords with needed structural and mechanical repairs and improvements.

The City is seeking information about households facing major problems in all types of housing within the community. Problems that affect health and safety or the energy efficiency of the home or apartment should be noted, and those problems could include roofing, windows and doors, lack of insulation, heating and electrical systems, siding, porches, steps and landings, water and sewer issues, plumbing, and interior stairs and flooring.

If you are interested in being placed on a Waiting List if the City seeks housing grant funding in the future, submit this Survey of Interest to the Department of Planning & Economic Development at City Hall – 47 Castle St., Geneva, NY 14456 or email to dwest@geneva.ny.us.

All household information will be kept confidential, this may be shared with a consultant for grant writing but will not be shared with other departments including Building and Codes, Fire, etc.

Note that submitting a Survey does not guarantee that the City will be able to obtain funding or operate a housing program in the future, but it does help!

Meet the candidates 2024

Thank you to those who were able to attend or listen to the Community Forum.

We received some positive feedback from attendees and YouTube watchers on the forum.  The forum was the communities opportunity  to hear directly from all candidates to understand who may be the best leader for the Geneva Police Department.  For those that were unable to attend please share and view  the Community Forum on YouTube. Community members can provide feedback on who should be the next leader through this feedback form.  Print forms will also be available in City Hall later today.  Forms are due back on Sunday evening 6/2/2024.

As residents review the candidates, we ask that they provide detailed responses on why they believe the candidate they have selected as the most qualified is most qualified and what areas of growth you see for this candidate. Consider all of the characteristics of an ideal Chief of Police and why a candidate does or does not embody those qualities. No leader is a perfect leader and we ask for  thoughtful considerations on why or why not a person is not necessarily perfect, but the right person for this position right now. This position is multi-faceted so please take into consideration how this person will manage  and lead the department, respond to the community, provide support and accountability, and serve as a member of the City team.

Any questions please reach out to the city manager's office 315-789-6104.
