lakefront concert series

The Geneva Lakefront Concert Series continues!

Join us this Wednesday, July 24th from 6-8pm for live music at the Lakefront by The Cool Club & the Lipker Sisters! Jump! Jive! Boogie! A unique blend of old and new. Three young women singing vocal harmony in a way only family can, are joined by the distinguished, swinging Cool Club Trio, to present an evening of jazz favorites, contemporary hits and original works. Not to be missed - Geneva’s finest!

The concert series is FREE and open to all. Bring your own chair or blanket and enjoy the show! Food and drink will be available for purchase. Featured food trucks are La Monarka & Taste of Soul. Sweets and goodies available from Simple Sweets Bakery & Geneva Gelato. Beverages and popcorn available from the Welcome Center, you can find them set up on their patio!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE ON CITY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS

The City of Geneva is actively recruiting residents to serve in critical roles on City Boards, Committees, and Commissions. There are a range of opportunities to engage in and support the economic and community development functions of the City, and shape the future of your community.

Current opportunities to serve include the Board of Assessment Review, Geneva Housing Commission, Historic Districts Commission, Human Rights Commission, Planning Board, Police Budget Advisory Board, Recreation and Youth Advisory Board, and the Shade Tree Committee.

NYSDOT Rts 5&20 Project

Project is substantially completed. Waiting on final electrical, guiderail, pavement markings and landscape contract work.  

Free Mulch Available

DPW has a limited supply of ground mulch available to the public.
Mulch pile will be available at the Resource Recovery Park 
Wednesday 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM 
Saturday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM 


NYSDEC Foundry Remediation Project Milling and Paving Schedule:

Please expect delays during these work operations and changing traffic patterns. Seek alternative travel routes when possible. No street parking will be allowed on these streets during working hours 6:00AM to 6:00PM. If you need to remove vehicles out of driveways or for any pick-up or drop-off services please make accommodations. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Paving will be scheduled beginning Monday (722).


Anticipated Street Closures 

Please seek alternate routes during these times. Please be preprepared for changing traffic patterns.

City of Geneva Water System Flushing Program 2024

CITY OF GENEVA WATER USERS:

THE CITY OF   GENEVA  WATER MAINTENANCE  DEPT.   WILL BE CONDUCTING ITS ANNUAL WATER MAIN FLUSHING PROGRAM BETWEEN THE HOURS  OF   7:30AM  AND  3:00   PM   MONDAY  THROUGH FRIDAY.  FLUSHING IS CONDUCTED ANNUALLY TO REMOVE SEDIMENT FROM THE  WATER  MAINS   AND  TO  CHECK   THE OPERATING  CONDITION  OF   FIRE  HYDRANTS, SECTION   BY   SECTION,  THROUGHOUT  THE CITY.

THE WORK   INVOLVES  LITTLE  OR  NO INTERRUPTION  OF  SERVICE,   ALTHOUGH  A SLIGHT  DISCOLORATION   OF  THE  WATER MAY   OCCUR   IN  AREAS   WHERE   FLUSHING IS  UNDERWAY   (OTHER  AREAS  MAY  BE AFFECTED  AT  TIMES).

IT  IS   RECOMMENDED   THAT  NO   LAUNDRY BE   DONE  IN  THE   SCHEDULED  AREAS BETWEEN  7:30   AM  AND  3:00   PM.

QUESTIONS   REGARDING  PERSISTENT  WATER QUALITY   PROBLEMS,   SHOULD  THEY OCCUR,   CAN   BE  DIRECTED   TO  THE  WATER MAINTENANCE  DEPT.   AT  789-8070  OR THE   CITY  ENGINEERING  OFFICE   AT 789--3101.

 

FACTORS    BEYOND  OUR  CONTROL   MAY CHANGE  THE  FLUSHING   SCHEDULE   (EX. WATER  MAIN    BREAK). WE  APPRECIATE  YOUR   PATIENCE  AND CO-OPERATION  WITH   OUR  CONTINUED EFFORTS  TO   IMPROVE  WATER  SERVICE    IN THE  CITY.

The City of Geneva is offering storage space for kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, and other pre-approved paddlecrafts at Lakefront Park. The storage season is May 1st through November 1st, 2024.

Fees:

Resident: $100/rack space

Non-Resident: $125/rack space

*One paddlecraft per rack space, spaces are first-come, first-serve*
