lakefront concert series

The Geneva Lakefront Concert Series continues!

Join us this Wednesday, August 7th from 6-8pm for live music at the Lakefront by City Limits! High energy, swing-funk-blues rock that puts rhythm in your feet and groove in your soul. Expect to hear Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark, Jr, Stevie Wonder, all of your favorite rockin’ classics. These seven wildcats will leave you dancing and craving for more!

The concert series is FREE and open to all. Bring your own chair or blanket and enjoy the show! Food and drink will be available for purchase. Featured food trucks are La Monarka & Taste of Soul. Sweets and goodies available from Simple Sweets Bakery. Beverages and popcorn available from the Welcome Center, you can find them set up on their patio! 

Rain location is inside the Finger Lakes Welcome Center.

no farmers market 8/3

As a reminder, there is NO Farmers Market on August 3rd.

The Glorious Garlic Festival is taking place Saturday, August 3rd 10:30am-6pm & Sunday, August 4th 10:30am-5pm at Lakefront Park! Parking for the event will be in the lawn between 41 Lakefront Hotel & the Finger Lakes Welcome Center- cars can access the parking from E Castle St- follow signs and traffic flaggers. For more information, visit their website at www.gloriousgarlicfestival.com. 

The boat launch will be closed on Saturday 8/3 & Sunday 8/4. 



Department of Public Works Updates:

Storm Lawn and Tree Debris 

DPW has been actively cleaning up yard waste and tree debris from the recent extreme weather events. 

If you are cleaning limbs blown down alongside or from  the rear of your property, please bring the debris to the curb line for pick up.  DPW will not go on private property to retrieve limbs or brush.   Safety Reminder – Please contact local utility companies before working in and around any power lines.   Resource Recovery Park located on Doran Ave will continue to be open to residents Wednesday 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM for debris and food scrap drop off.  Tree Contractors are not allowed to deposit their debris.  

Grant Award Notification Received 

Bridge NY grant was awarded to the city for the replacement of superstructure for Middle Street Bridge over Marsh Creek for  $917k

Street Resurfacing Project 

Street Resurfacing is on schedule and weather permitting will begin next week.

Although DPW takes steps to minimize the inconveniences, this work requires dump trucks and special machinery and will include traffic disruptions.

We encourage everyone to please seek alternate routes when street closures affect your neighborhoods.  

Additional work on these streets may include, structure adjustments,  concrete sidewalk ramps, and pavement marking installations.

All work and schedules are subject to change due to weather and or unforeseen conditions. 

We appreciate everyone’s patience while this work is completed.     

Tentative Milling schedule is listed below.  Asphalt Paving will begin after milling is completed.

Jay Street Storm Culvert Replacement 

DPW will be replacing storm culvert piping under Jay  Street in an area between Kings Lane and Slosson Lane.

Work is expected to begin the week of August 5th.

Please expect delays and road closures in the area from Pulteney to Slosson.

Thank you for your patience while we complete this repair.

Castle Street Sewer Lining

DPW will be lining and inspecting sewers under Castle St in the area between Main St and Brook St.

Work is expected to begin August 7th.

Alternating traffic and temporary stoppages may be required at times.

Work will continue for several weeks. All work and schedules are subject to change due to weather and or unforeseen conditions.

paddleboat 2024

The City of Geneva is offering storage space for kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, and other pre-approved paddlecrafts at Lakefront Park. The storage season is May 1st through November 1st, 2024.

Fees:

Resident: $100/rack space

Non-Resident: $125/rack space

*One paddlecraft per rack space, spaces are first-come, first-serve*
