Department of Public Works Updates:

Forecasted Storm Info Thursday 8/8/24 evening through Saturday 8/10/24

 

WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be

possible.


WHERE...Portions of central and western New York, including the

following counties, in central New York, Jefferson, Lewis,

Northern Cayuga and Oswego. In western New York, Ontario and Wayne.


WHEN...From Friday morning through Saturday morning.


IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,

creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.


Castle Street Sewer Inspection Cleaning and Televising  

Work continues on Castle Street sanitary sewer inspections Main St to Brook St 

Jay Street Storm Culvert Replacement 

DPW will be replacing storm culvert piping under Jay  Street in an area between Kings Lane and Slosson Lane.

Work is expected to begin the week of August 12th.

Please expect delays and road closures in the area from Pulteney to Slosson. 

Thank you for your patience while we complete this repair.    

Street Resurfacing Project 

Street Resurfacing is on schedule and weather permitting will continue next week. 

All work is subject to change.  

Monday 8/12  - Milling 

Elm St – Colt St to Castle St  area 

Washington St – Nursery Ave to Norwood Ave area 

Tuesday 8/13 – Milling and Paving

Scott Lafaro  - S Linden to Paradise Al area 

Seneca St  - Linden to S Main west bound lanes only

The City of Geneva is actively recruiting residents to serve in critical roles on City Boards, Committees, and Commissions. There are a range of opportunities to engage in and support the economic and community development functions of the City, and shape the future of your community.

Current opportunities to serve include the Board of Assessment Review, Geneva Housing Commission, Historic Districts Commission, Human Rights Commission, Planning Board, Police Budget Advisory Board, Recreation and Youth Advisory Board, and the Shade Tree Committee.

paddleboat 2024

The City of Geneva is offering storage space for kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, and other pre-approved paddlecrafts at Lakefront Park. The storage season is May 1st through November 1st, 2024.

Fees:

Resident: $100/rack space

Non-Resident: $125/rack space

*One paddlecraft per rack space, spaces are first-come, first-serve*
