debris clean up

ATTENTION CITY OF GENEVA PROPERTY OWNERS AND RESIDENTS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS 2025 SPRING YARD DEBRIS COLLECTION PROGRAM:

The City of Geneva will begin spring yard debris pick up on Monday, April 7th and end on Friday, June 27th (weather permitting)

Property owners and residents may place leaves and yard debris between the sidewalk and curb for DPW removal.

Please place all leaves, grass clippings, weeds and small brush debris in paper bags.  Plastic bags will not be picked up.  If interested, the City of Geneva will provide a limited amount of paper lawn/leaf bags which can be picked up at the City Clerk’s office located on the first floor of City Hall, 47 Castle Street during normal operating hours.

Loose brush, branch and limb debris must be no longer than 4 feet and not more than 6 inches in diameter. Consolidating small piles of debris into larger piles will help expedite pick up.

DPW will start our final pass through the City on June 16, 2025.

Please note we will not collect debris on private property, near parked cars, or in plastic bags.  No plastic, stumps, rocks, stone, construction debris, lumber, garbage, glass, furniture, rugs, bedding, tires, etc. will be picked up.  Please consider recycling and coordinate with your trash hauler for these items.

Please be advised that property owners and residents are encouraged to please bring all yard debris to the City’s Resource Recovery Park at 41 Doran Avenue during the following hours:

Resource Recovery Park Hours:

Wednesday 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Saturday     8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

traffic control camera

NYSDOT has recently received inquiries regarding the cameras being setup by the Department’s traffic count contractor. In response to recent questions, please click the links below for information and FAQ sheet.

Cameras should have a label with the name “NDS” (National Data Services) on them and should look like the picture below. There has been an increase in the utilization of these cameras as they are a great alternative to tube setups and offer many benefits, including being safer to install and for the traveling public, lower cost, improved data accuracy, and less interference with snow and ice operations.

Please reach out to MO-trasfficdataviewer@dot.ny.gov for any questions or concerns.
