Winter parking 2025-2026

The City of Geneva is preparing for the forecasted snow event.

Winter Parking Restrictions will be enforced beginning Monday, January 26th, 2026 from 2:00AM-6:00AM daily. This will continue until further notice. No parking on City streets will be permitted, EXCEPT streets marked with alternative parking signage. If you park on alternate streets or in downtown municipal lots PLEASE FOLLOW ALTERNATE parking rules. 

We appreciate you parking off-street and helping us safely clean snow from city streets.

REMINDER : WINTER PARKING FINE IS NOW $75.00

La Ciudad de Geneva se está preparando para el evento de nieve pronosticado.

Las restricciones de estacionamiento invernal entrarán en vigor a partir del lunes 26 de enero de 2026, de 2:00 a. m. a 6:00 a. m., todos los días. Estas restricciones permanecerán vigentes hasta nuevo aviso.

No se permitirá estacionar en las calles de la ciudad, EXCEPTO en aquellas calles claramente marcadas con señalización de estacionamiento alternativo.

Si se estaciona en calles alternas o en estacionamientos municipales del centro, POR FAVOR SIGA las normas de estacionamiento alternativo.

Agradecemos que estacione fuera de la vía pública y nos ayude a retirar la nieve de manera segura de las calles de la ciudad.

Winter Storm Watch

The National Weather Service is forecasting widespread and potentially dangerous winter conditions, including extreme cold temperatures and heavy snowfall, from Friday night through Monday evening.

Residents are encouraged to prepare in advance for:

  • Slow travel

  • Rapidly changing road conditions

The Department of Public Works (DPW) is prepared for a multi-shift snow event.

Please do not crowd snow plows.
Be patient, allow extra travel time, and drive with caution.

Castle Street Reconstruction, Phase I

  • Villager Construction will be entering a winter shutdown for the Castle Street Reconstruction project.
  • Crews will complete miscellaneous site clean-up between January 14, 2026 and January 23, 2026, prior to the shutdown. No additional construction activities are anticipated during this time.
  • Work on the project is expected to resume in the spring. All work and schedules remain subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.

Meter Encoder and Endpoint Project

Property owners are encouraged to schedule an appointment with Hydro Utilities to complete water meter upgrades.

The City of Geneva is replacing electronic meter readers on all properties. After receiving your notice by mail, please schedule your appointment by one of the following methods:

  • Online: Visit genevameters.com and enter your Work Order # and Service # (located on the letter to the right of your mailing address)
  • By Phone: Call Hydro Utilities toll-free at 877-884-9376 Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

Pick up your tags at the Clerk’s Office valid through December 31, 2026. 

Recycling Tags are $30.

Trash Punch Cards (52-punch card) $90.

Each punch covers up to two 30-gallon bag
