TASK FORCE ON STORM RESPONSE IN THE CITY OF GENEVA
12-person task force consisting of City staff, community members, and other stakeholders charged with working throughout 2024 to compile a set of protocols and policies that will protect our city. Individual teams may be created within the Task Force to tackle different areas of preparedness and response, and their recommendations will be presented to Council by November 2024.
The Task Force members will review and make recommendations to address:
Short-term infrastructure
Long-term infrastructure
Homeowner and landlord investments
Preparation and emergency planning
Messaging and communications strategy to City of Geneva residents and visitors
Task Force Members will be recruited and interviewed by City Staff and confirmed by members of Council in February 2024 and will include representatives from throughout the community with a vested interest in preventing impacts of storms on the City, as well as professional staff from the City, higher education partners, emergency response organizations, and others.
